The Music That Drives Me
One of the coolest parts of being in the music business for me is finding new bands and songs that are refreshing and exciting. I love the feeling when I find a new song that just makes you move by chance or on the recommendation of a friend or client.

I thought I would make a list of the artists and bands that have shaped my music tastes over the years. I think it only fair that I share with my prospects and clients what music I enjoy. I have found that people can really connect with each other once they realize they enjoy similar bands and music genres.

I listened to 97.5 WZOK, 95.3 The Oldies, and 92.5 The Energy quite a bit when I worked at Best Buy in the install bay over a period of almost 10 years. As such, I really learned quite a few lyrics to a huge variety of music which really benefits me now as I host karaoke.

The genres I enjoy the most are 80's Pop, 80's Hair Bands, Ska, Punk Rock, Celtic Punk, Alternative Rock, EDM, Live DJ Sessions, and most recently Pop Country. These are my strengths. I never really got into Classic Rock, Heavy Metal (except Metallica), or Rap. I do like some old school Dre., Snoop, Ice Cube, and some Eminem but that is about it. I do not like the messages that the Hip Hop and Rap industry put out. Simple as that. It seems that the more swear words they can fit in the better. With that being said I really enjoy the new face of country music. The new Pop Country is much more positive, and I enjoy the stories the songs tell.

So here goes in somewhat of a chronological order starting with high school, progressing through college, work life in Corporate America, and to present as a karaoke host and events DJ and MC.
