7. Harlem High School Prom 2016
Mike and his team went above and beyond to DJ the Harlem High School Prom on April 30, 2016.Several months before the dance, Mike and I started discussing what we wanted the overall experience to be like at this year's event. Mike thought it was essential to involve as many students as possible to ensure that dance-goers would enjoy the music. We had several meetings with students leading up to the prom date, reviewing songs that students suggested. From these, Mike spent countless hours making customized playlists. To reach even more students, Mike ordered professionally printed posters to display throughout the school; the posters provided information about the event, as well as his email address for students to send song requests. The posters were successful because he was inundated with suggestions, which made me elated that a large population of students were invested in their prom.
With all of Mike's thorough planning, the night was sure to be a success, but the dance was even better than we could have imagined. I have never seen a DJ so in-tune with the crowd, which was a sure contributor to the night's success. He is skilled at watching the crowd and recognizing their reactions to songs, and then responding accordingly to keep the party going. His sound system was top-notch, and the music was at full throttle even in the back of the ballroom.
The fantastic music was not the only factor that Rock Vegas contributed to the event; in the foyer, Rock Vegas offered a "step and repeat" station, where students could take their photos on a red carpet for no charge. As they entered the ballroom, Mike's team handed out glow necklaces, which definitely contributed to the party atmosphere. In the ballroom, Mike set up awesome lighting that complimented the masquerade themed decor.
I would highly recommend Rock Vegas Events for weddings or any event. I am definitely looking forward to working with Rock Vegas again in the future.
